My fixed-term employment ended, and I haven’t received my final pay. What can I do?
Check with the employer what is causing the delay in the payment of the final pay, and ask the employer to make the payment. Due to a delay in pay, you can also make a claim to the employer for interest and the pay for the days the payment is late.
It is advisable to make a written claim for pay receivables. If you are a member of a trade union, you can ask your union to help you in claiming the pay owed to you. If you are not a union member and if the employer, despite your claim, does not pay the final pay, you can contact a legal aid office or any other law or legal service provider if you need help in claiming unpaid pay. Ultimately, it is possible to file a suit for a claim based on a court decision.
