Can an apprentice be laid off?

If the employee has been recruited for a fixed-term apprenticeship, the employer cannot lay off the employee. If the employer and the employee conclude a fixed-term apprenticeship contract during an indefinite employment contract, the apprenticeship training does not change the employment relationship into fixed-term and the employee can be laid off.
